“Parents are like shuttles on a loom. They join the threads of the past with threads of the future and leave their own bright patterns as they go.”

- Fred Rogers

UNTANGLE THE PATTERNS OF GENERATIONS PAST

  • Individual therapy

I work with individuals in a therapeutic setting to help strengthen their relationships with themselves and others. My clients are primarily pre-school through college/post-graduate, typically ranging in age from four-years-old, up to mid-twenties.

  • Family Therapy

Many families need help untangling the threads of generational patterns that have outlived their usefulness, and are ready to create new ways of being. I work with children and their families to learn effective tools to become stronger together.

  • My Therapeutic Philosophy

As a Marriage and Family Therapist, my approach to therapy is wholistic and systemic. No person can fully be known without acknowledging the effects of relational, cultural, and social forces on our lives.

FAQs

What is the cost of therapy sessions?

  • Individual Therapy (50 minutes) $100

  • Family Therapy (50 minutes) $100

  • Family Therapy (90 minutes) $125

While I currently do not accept insurance, I do offer sliding scale rates based on household income. If your insurance offers out-of-network mental health care benefits and requires a Good Faith Estimate, as outlined under the No Surprises Act (enacted as part of the Consolidated Appropriations Act 2021), I’m able to provide an estimated cost of one year of mental health treatment based on your needs. I’m also able to provide a superbill document that you may file with your insurance for reimbursement.

Appointment changes or cancellations must be done with at least 24-hours’ notice. Day-of cancellations or no-shows will be charged a regular session fee. Exceptions are made in the event of a serious or contagious illness or emergency. Some examples of emergencies are car accidents, deaths in the family or extreme illness. Frequent cancellations (three or more in six months, or two consecutive) and/or missed appointments (no-show) will result in the termination of treatment.

will we meet in person or virtually?

Our sessions will be held in-person, at my office at 428 McCallie Ave. I do have the ability to conduct virtual sessions if needed, on a case-by-case basis. These will be scheduled at my discretion and after discussion with the client. Reasons for conducting a virtual session may include maintaining continuity of care for a college student going home for the holidays, engaging in a consult session with relevant parties who live out of town, or a life event that temporarily prevents the client from traveling to my office.

Can we talk before I book a session?

Yes! Choosing a therapist can feel intimidating, and you may have questions I didn’t answer in the FAQs. Therapy is an investment of your time, energy, and resources, and I want you to feel comfortable before engaging in a therapeutic relationship. I offer one 20-minute phone or virtual consultation prior to your first booking so we can ensure that you feel confident in my ability to address your goals, and that I feel your needs are not outside of my personal scope of practice. If we determine your needs are outside of what I’m able to address, or we’re struggling to connect, I’m happy to provide referrals to some of my many talented colleagues who may be a better fit.

What are your credentials?

I earned my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca Nazarene University, and I’m currently practicing under the supervision of Julie Tilley, LMFT, Tennessee License #1518.
